Downtown Alive! Rocks the Fox
The Rocks the Fox Weekend closes out the summer for the Downtown Alive! Festival Series and is filled with nationally renowned classic rock bands. Friday night kicks off at 6:00 pm with Problem Child, Chicago's Bon Scott - ac/dc tribute band, just close your eyes and you’ll believe its Bon Scott and ac/dc live”. Headliner, Blue Oyster Cult, is best known for 76’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper", 77’s "Godzilla”, and 81’s “Burnin' for You". The band is a pioneer in heavy metal music for its hard-edged musical assault. Saturday begins at 2:00pm with an activity filled KidZone with free interactive activities plus a KidZstage with Circus Boy – a Hilarious prop comic & stuntman and the band OD TAPO IMI – Tropical steel drums mixed with Jimmy Buffet and the Blue Man Group offers up a ton of island fun! Then on the Main stage at 3pm Dbl. Shot a cover band offers up “A Double Shot of Rock”! Covering all the classics that you know and love and then some plus new classics in the making. Next is ARRA, a Chicago based rock band covering the music of Journey, Boston, Styx, Rush, Van Halen, Creed, REO Speedwagon, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Queen, Lynard Skynard, Nickleback, Black Crowes and many more! At 7:00 pm things really start to rock with Molly Hatchet, this American Southern Rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1974. They are widely known for their hit song "Flirtin' with Disaster" from the album of the same title. At 8:30p - UFO fishes off the night! These rock legends have distinguished themselves not only by contributing rock classics to musical history, but by also keeping their artistic output at a permanently high level and always having a fresh wind blowing through their band structure. UFO clocked up one success after the other during the 70’s with classics such as Phenomenon, Force It and No Heavy Pettin. The beginning of the new millennium finds Phil Mogg, Pete Way and Paul Raymond as inspired and creative as ever. Thanks to their American guitarist, Vinnie Moore, who proved his class and significance for the group on You Are Here, his debut recording with UFO, and the live cut, Showtime, the band has grown even stronger. The festival is FREE and includes a FREE KidZone with rides and activities, over a dozen Aurora area restaurants offering a very diverse menu, icy cold libations, plus many more surprises. Bring a lawn chair (no coolers please) and kick back, relax and enjoy the music on a warm summer night in historic downtown Aurora!

Kennedy’s Kitchen: Celtic Music & Tall Tale
Kennedy's Kitchen plays tear-up-the-floor, break-your-heart beautiful Irish music: traditional dance tunes, pub and original songs, stories, jokes, and well embellished tall tales. They have played across the country, entertaining audiences with their own special sound on: fiddle, whistles, banjo, bouzouki, guitars, bodhran, harmonica and bass. It's the ancient tradition and it's as fresh as a spring rain. Kennedy’s Kitchen is based in South Bend, Indiana and has grown over ten years out of weekly seisuns at Lula's Cafe in South Bend, Indiana. As a seisun is as much a social gathering as a musical one, so like their performances, the music is intermingled with stories, jokes and well embellished tales. No two performances are the same. Out of their respect for each other's talents comes an abiding drive to share their enthusiasm for Irish music and culture with others. Rowdy and toe-tapping or sweet and sentimental, you'll have it all.
