Rolling on the River
Hit the rambling waters of the Fox River at the 48th annual Mid-American Canoe & Kayak Race Sunday, June 7—this year with a twist.
The Mid-American race will, for the first time, feature two race lengths—a 10 mile stretch beginning in St. Charles and a six-mile ride launching in Batavia. Both races will finish at McCullough Park in Aurora followed by a post-race party and awards ceremony. This is an amateur canoe race for paddlers of all ages and abilities featuring 10 canoe and 6 kayak divisions. First-place awards will be given to the winners in each division for both races.

Green Ribbon Motorcycle Ride & Rally
Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts will gather Saturday, June 13 for the Seventh Annual Green Ribbon Motorcycle Ride & Rally to exhibit their bikes and enjoy live music, food, contests and entertainment. The event will feature a scenic ride run through Chicago?s western suburbs, a Harley Davidson motorcycle raffle, a custom bike show and a classic car show. Organized by the Walter Payton Center GUILD, proceeds from the rally support research and treatment of hepatitis, colon cancer, organ transplantation, diabetes and obesity at the University of Illinois Medical Center?s Walter Payton Liver Center.

Northern Illinois Food Bank's "Strike Out Hunger" Bowling Tournament
The Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) is hosting their ?Strike Out Hunger? bowling tournament at Valley Lanes in North Aurora on Wednesday, June 10th from 6-9 PM. Teams consist of 5 bowlers for $300, that?s only $60 a Bowler, which includes; 3 games of bowling, shoes, unlimited soda and pizza. The top 3 teams will advance to the Championship tournament on June 23rd. The funds raised will be used to help feed hungry people through the Northern Illinois Food Bank. In 2008, NIFB distributed over 22.5 million pounds of food. This is going to be a fun and interactive event, please contact us by June 3rd for reservations.
