AURORA, Illinois - (Nov. 10, 2006) - The Aurora-based Chicago Premium Outlets announced that over 60% of their stores will open shop at midnight Thanksgiving night for true "early birds" The rest of the designer discount stores will be ready for business at 7 a.m. for a more "traditional" shopper-savings event.
According to CPO Asst. General Manager Deborah Brooks, at least 74 stores will be opened during the After Thanksgiving Sale Featuring Midnight Madness sale night and will offer special savings for those venturing out to spend. The midnight sales offered are expected to be enticing enough to get people motivated to come out and shop, said Brooks.
CPO is expected to be the only shopping center/mall open at midnight for the 2007 holiday season kick-off.
Brooks said she has already heard some buzz from a group of female shoppers who plan on power shopping in their pajamas, while another busload of widow/widowers discussed coming out - to be able to have something to look forward to on Thanksgiving night.
Some local hotels - the Baymont Inn & Suites and the Super8 Motel - are offering special overnight stays for the shoppers, which include shopping survival packages and special check-in and check-out times.
