The Aurora Area Wineries

Fox Valley Winery specializes in creating small lots of handcrafted, award-winning wines—many made from estate grown, single-vineyard Illinois grapes. The Faltz family prides themselves on the high quality of the grapes used to produce their wine.

The Vineyard
Fall of 2007 will mark the fifth harvest of grapes from the Faltz Family Vineyards, located nine miles south of our Sandwich tasting room. The vineyard, now six years old, encompasses 26 acres and is situated on the south-facing rocky ridges of the Fox River valley. Events are held at the vineyard twice a summer.

Our Facilities
The Fox Valley Winery has three tasting rooms. Our full-service winery and tasting room is located on Route 34 in Oswego, Illinois and features a private tasting room, sitting area, two fireplaces a large retail store. Tours of the winemaking facility are offered on weekends. Two other tasting rooms are located in Sandwich and Geneva, Illinois. Tasting is offered daily at all three locations.

The Geneva location is three storefronts wide and features a lounge area that is separated from the main room. It is a comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy a glass of wine with friends after exploring the unique shops along Third Street.

The Sandwich tasting room is in a 120 year old double-walled masonry building. The building was originally used to store blocks of ice cut from the Somonauk Creek, which lies just west of town. Area residents purchased these large blocks of ice for use in their "ice box" refrigerators commonly used in homes before the turn of the 20th century. This double storefront location offers a comfortable sitting area, and a comfortable surrounding and tasting area.
