Aurora, IL 60506
In 1912, Frank Lloyd Wright was commissioned to design a house for William B. Greene, one of the founders of Barber-Greene Equipment Company. Now over 100 years old the house was designed in the Prairie style of Wright’s history with a low-pitched roof, overhanging eaves, horizontal lines, central chimney, open floor plan and clerestory windows. Built on Garfield Avenue it was the smallest Wright home built so far and the only one in Aurora. (Privately owned, tours not available.)
