Art and Market in Aurora Downtown
Aurora Downtown's Art and Market was the subject of a visit by Marcella Raymond for WGN Evening News on April 24th, 2021. The market, which occurs every other Saturday, was one of the first public events to occur in Aurora in 2021, bringing a variety of vendors to the contemporary gathering space and cafe at Society 57. Shoppers can enjoy French-inspired sweets, mini-donuts, bouquets courtesy of Blissful Blooms, while also browsing & buying handcrafted candles, leather goods, and jewelry from Aurora Area makers.

Around Town Visits the Farnsworth House and The Homestead 1854
Ana Belaval's popular Around Town segment brought viewers to the city of Plano, Illinois, highlighting two unique attractions there — the Farnsworth House and The Homestead 1854.
The Farnsworth House is an American icon of mid-century design, developed by Mies van der Rohe for the pioneering nephrologist, poet, and translator, Dr. Edith Farnsworth. The Edith Reconsidered program continues to run through 2021 highlighting the interior design Dr. Farnsworth would have introduced to the house, while also elevating her life story in the context of the home's construction. An upcoming event, the Modern in the Middle Road Rally, will tie Aurora Area attractions together for a day full of events and special offers throughout the Fox Valley — learn more at farnsworthhouse.org.
The Homestead 1854 is a gorgeous Italianate villa mere miles away from the Farnsworth House that hosts weddings, day and overnight retreats, yoga & wellness workshops, and expertly curated events. Intimate wedding dinners and signature Corks & Caps occur on the secluded grounds which includes a timber tent, hedge maze, and relaxing outdoor fireside lounge.
