The City of Aurora’s Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board announced the return of the annual Fiestas Patrias Festival on Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, at RiverEdge Park in downtown Aurora.
After a two-year hiatus, the family-friendly 2022 Aurora Fiestas Patrias festival will feature two days of food vendors, cultural activities, a free carnival, and a diverse line-up of musical entertainment.
Each day will be filled with local, regional, national, and international performing artists on the main stage. Headlining Saturday night will be six-time Grammy-winning Cuban Reggaeton duo Gente De Zona, and Sunday night’s closer is the extremely popular Jalisco technobanda Banda Machos.
Admission to RiverEdge Park is just $10 per person daily, and free for children 11 y/o and younger. Tickets are available now at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/389512972787.
The free carnival will be held across the bridge from RiverEdge Park in City Lot W at 309 N. River Street. In addition, the adjacent Wilder Park Promenade, 350 N. River St., will have additional food vendors.
Proceeds from the fest will go towards college scholarships assisting Aurora students of Hispanic descent.
