The perfect pairing of music and history is coming to Plano with Yorkville Big Band’s concert on the lawn of Farnsworth House!
One of Mies van der Rohe’s most significant works, The Farnsworth House is internationally renowned as a site with tremendous importance in architectural history. The residence was constructed in 1951 and is notable for the contrast of its sleek modernity with its natural surroundings. This beautiful juxtaposition will provide the backdrop for the lively big band music of the 1940’s and 50’s.
Under the direction of its founder, Rick Falato, the Yorkville Big Band has been entertaining enthusiastic audiences for over 20 years! They are a full 22-piece big band and play everything from modern arrangements of famous big bands, such as Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller, to adaptations of today’s most popular songs.
This unique musical experience is one you won’t want to miss! Come before 4:30 and get a tour of Farnsworth House. You can even bring your own snacks and nonalcoholic beverages. Get your tickets today and then settle down on the picturesque lawn of Farnsworth House on August 26th for an evening of Yorkville Big Band’s fantastic music!
