Targeting travel and tourism as part of its future, the Village of Elburn has officially joined the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, expanding the AACVB’s regional footprint while boosting the number of west suburban communities it represents to 11.
Elburn Mayor Jeffrey D. Walter said making the decision to move under the Aurora Area tourism umbrella was a way the village can enhance its draw as a regional destination. “The Village of Elburn is excited to start this new relationship with the AACVB and show visitors what Elburn has to offer,” said Walter.
“Elburn has attractions that we are thrilled to incorporate in our destination, including a terrific brewery and a well known meat market in its downtown,” Cort Carlson, Executive Director, Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, agreed, adding, “We also anticipate the intersection of Route 47 and I-88 will be the next major growth location in the western suburbs, including hotels. Welcoming Elburn as the eleventh community on our roster will help position the village as a charming new destination for travelers and overnight getaways.”
